The Ressourcerie and resale
Giving pre-loved items a second chance is good for the environment and there are lots of ways to do it.
- If you don’t need them anymore and they’re still in good condition, other people may want them. Just take swap and sell initiatives like flea markets, car boot sales and thrift shops. People get the things they need without having to buy them new.
- If a piece of furniture or item of clothing is a bit worn or run down, it can always be repaired, refurbished and refashioned! It gets people crafting and being creative whilst reducing new product purchases.
Donate your items and shop for bargain items at the Ressourcerie :
The second-hand shop collects items in good condition : furniture, toys, household appliances, tools, crockery, books and more. It cleans, inspects or repairs them before selling them in the shop as second-hand goods.
It does not accept textiles : please dispose of any textile items at clothes bins or charity shops.
The Ressourcerie is at 290 rue du Perruet, ZAE de la Maladière in Ornex

In addition to the shop in Ornex, the Ressourcerie sells selected exclusive online items at iletait2fois.org.
4 donation options :
- At the Ressourcerie’s drop-off point in Ornex: Tues-Sat: 8.30am-5.30pm.
- At the Saint Genis Pouilly recycling centre: Tuesday from 1:45 p.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a Ressourcerie team member in attendance (except the 1st Thursday of the month when the service takes place at the Péron waste disposal centre).
- Next to the Péron recycling centre: the 1st Thursday of each month from 9am to 12pm and 1:45pm to 5pm with a Ressourcerie team member in attendance.
- Home collection: please call +33 (0)4 81 50 02 51 to book your pick-up for furniture or bulky items in good condition.
The Ressourcerie also raises awareness about the importance of sustainable development, with adult workshops and children’s activities at leisure centres and schools in the Pays de Gex.
