Don’t forget your fob

Are you a tenant or homeowner in the Pays de Gex ?

  • You must have a “déchets” card or fob to access the 4 Pays de Gex recycling centres.
  • If your household is linked to a nearby recycling bin to dispose of household waste, you need a fob in your name to open it. Click here to find out more about this type of waste collection.
  • If you live in an area with a food waste bin, you need a fob in your name to open it. Click here to find out more about this type of waste collection.

No fob? Every household is allowed two fobs. Get yours :

  • Household waste bags must not exceed 35 litres; larger bags will not fit through the container opening. Under no circumstances should they be left at the foot of the containers.
  • If you swipe your badge in front of the container multiple times, don’t worry: you will only be charged for one use. Instructions are posted on each container to help you with your first few uses.

Why use the badge ?

Every household becomes an active participant in its own bill. Since the waste management service is financed by the incentive-based waste collection fee paid by all households, each container is equipped with access control, allowing for the recording and billing of the amount of household waste produced by each household.

Residents of apartment buildings are also affected, because in this case, the collective bill for the incentive-based waste collection fee is shared among each household. The local authority therefore encourages you to reduce your household waste production by sorting and adopting good recycling practices. Sorting is a concrete and effective way to take action against pollution and climate change.
